anyway, last night was pretty neat. it was pouring rain and thundering and lightning(ing) and i just sat out in a hammock on the porch and listened to some matt papa. i was listening to that song, i think it is called Our God Reigns or something. it was so humbling just sitting there with thunder, lightning, rain, and wind all around, listening to how holy God is. then in got to this one part where he keeps repeating hallelujah, our God reigns. it just seemed cool because, well, it was raining pretty hard. hallelujah, our God reigns! it made me think of learning about God's attributes this semester and it made me think of this set of verses rightchea:
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

ReplyDeleteIt's Dad. Thanks for putting up the pictures. Is the picture on the right side of the blog one of yours? How about the one of the wall with faces painted on? Matthew and Emily both have some kind of cold or something that is giving them a cough and sore throat. Emily even stayed home from school today.
Emily had an idea to help with the backpack drive for next year, She wrote a letter to Me D' and got permission to put up signs and a box for kids to donatd their backpacks at the end of the year. They only have this week and then exams next week.
Matthew will be at Westview the first week after school is out.
Well, I will sign off and get readdy for bed soon. You are having one of those life experiences you will never forget and I know God will use it to help you make decisions for your future.

ReplyDeleteWe are having a super dooper thunder storm here in Mechanicsville! It has rained and thundered and been lightening for the past 2hours!! Cosmo and I were home alone and we were scared. It also hailed some. In the middle of it, Syndey Gould came over to talk to us about her 11 month mission internship with CAmpus Crusade for Christ. She will leave Sept. 1 to go to Venezuela. We are going to support her; it sounds like a great opportunity for her.
Cosmo is not doing to well. I hope he will hold on until you get home to say goodbye to him. He's still eating, but falls A LOT getting around the house. Did you know the Jones across the street got a new Golden Retriever puppy? His name is Chase and he is adorable.
I hope your test goes well and talking Spanish is getting easier for you. I pray for your health and safety and pray you continue to follow as God leads you.

Hey Corey! Sounds like you have been very busy! How is your gecko doing? It's cool that you got to jump off a waterfall! Today reminded me of Lost because it was storming so much - pouring rain, thunder and lightning, and lots of hail. I drove through this river in a dip in the road haha and felt like I was adventuring in Lost. I was also thinking of how mighty God is! He's so big and powerful. Good luck on your classes!
