El Durazno

today we went way up into the mountains. it was about twice as far up as we went last thursday! Those roads we so intense. We had a really good time hiking through the mountain sharing the gospel and inviting people to a serivce at the local church. my group had the pastor of the church walk around with us. he did a great job letting us have practice sharing the gospel in spanish, then picking up when we could no longer form sentences. i thought he was very wise in the way he shared the gospel and it was neat to learn from him. what a tiring day! i got some sun on my face and neck, i guess the sun was just that much stronger up in the mountains.

its amazing that i feel like ive just gotten here and we are almost done with our third week. we've talked about what we all want to do during next month. most people said that they wanted to teach in the schools, and others said other random jobs, but i think i was the only one that wanted to work with a pastor in a church. I'm pretty excited about getting to do that because up until now we have only been visiting different churches around here, and we haven't really plugged into one for more than a day.

my gecko has eaten two flies now! its pretty great to watch him strike, adjust and begin swallowing. pretty incredible.

tomorrow is supposed to be painting again. anyway, ill post more later.
